And here’s a great example of why Rick Mercer is important: Unlike the rest of the media, who are happy to accept the legitimacy of the Conservative label concealing the old Reform party yahoos (sort of like sewing a Levi’s tag onto a pair of bargain basement jeans), he pulls back the curtain to remind us that the Republican-style Christian Right (sic.) types are still represented (and representing) in force. The fact that they embraced the Conservative and left out the Progressive tag is evidenced with this sorry list of losers.
