I’m working on a little project for which I am amassing a library of song lyrics, so I know my way around the Internet’s lyric sites by now. I thought I’d take a chance with a new one tonight, and boy howdy is this not getting added to my bookmarks.
Sam Cooke, in particular, comes in for a lyrical mauling. My favourite has been seeing Cupid made into a far more sinister request to fire an arrow straight to his lover’s heart:
I know between the two of us her heart we can still
Perhaps Sam’s lover has an excellent insurance policy?
