I Will Teach You To Be Rich: Personal finance and entrepreneurship tips from a Stanford graduate

I unfortunately burst the balloon of a very happy friend yesterday, when my personal-finances conservatism pointed out that her goal of BMW ownership – when she has three overdue credit cards and no substantial savings – is likely not going to happen soon. People who don’t listen carefully assume I’m anti-fun, or anti-buying things. Not true. I make sure to treat myself to dinner out every week or two, to expanding my DVD collection whenever a sale is on, or to upgrading my computer when it begins to chug noticeably. What I am anti- is debt, hardship and foolish spending. It’s amazing how little restraint it takes to save a decent amount of money, and this website is a good inspiration for finding all your possible cut-back choices. Even saving few dollars a week can make a difference over a year’s time. (As a wise man once said, enough small potatoes can fill truck.)
