During intermission at the aforementioned Buddy Holly show last weekend, I heard a song amidst the great 50s and 60s classics that I didn’t recognise (this is noteworthy for me!) All week I’ve been hunting for it based on the only lyrics I could make out through the chatter – “blackberry wine wine wine.” All I’d found until a few minutes ago was a Gordon Lightfoot ballad. Luckily, I decided to read one Onion AV Club article before going to bed, and the one I chose happened to mention a song called “Drinking Wine Spo-dee-o-dee” – a quick Google search later, and I have found my song. Woot doesn’t begin to cover it!
