I’ve been catching a few Willie Nelson songs from the Teatro era on shuffle recently. It occurs to me that, while Johnny Cash’s last albums of stripped-down folk and country serve as primers, they’re more about musicology and folk history. Willie’s albums are evolutionary and rich, and immensely enjoyable. Teatro is a treat. If you haven’t yet, give it a listen.
