Someone has posted an archive of Swedish Chef clips. (Sadly, they aren’t all here – where’s my favourite, the turkey clip? “Oh, de gobbley gobbley!”) It’s amazing to look back at the surrealistic, chaotic, dark weirdness that was the The Muppet Show; a show about a bunch of failures and losers, in which the main characters were a poultry-fancying alien, a frog with a short fuse, a flop-sweating idiot bear and a pig with delusions of grandeur. Strangely, it feels far more true-to-life than any of today’s dramatic or “reality TV” offerings.
