It’s testament to the dire programming on American TV that Gavin and Stacey nets a rave review from the NYTimes. It’s not the worst show I’ve ever seen, but certainly felt more American in its writing than my favourite Britcoms. Of course, I say this as one who has steadfastedly avoided any and all American shows for the last five years. Perhaps the quality has – eep! – worsened even further?
