“Now bishops are to be obliged to have a number of established exorcists for their diocese. Too many bishops are not taking this seriously and are not delegating their priests in the fight against the Devil. You have to hunt high and low for a proper, trained exorcist.”
I’m watching a documentary on the Catholic church’s new crusade against Satan – apparently Ratzinger wants more exorcists in his parishes. Says one practicing exorcist, “There’s always a very specific reason that the Devil possesses someone”, including “not wanting someone to get married, or not wanting someone to get a job”. They’re also interviewing a woman who thinks she was cursed by a boyfriend’s ex had an exorcism to get rid of the black gremlin that possessed and spoke to her. I wonder if those afflicted with exorcist-level demons might not be better served by a psychiatrist, rather than the medieval, magical equivalent.
