I’m with Tasha on this one: Phelps made it clear before the Olympics that sponsorships were his main goal. (Boy do I long for the days where pride of achievement was the purpose!) Since then, his behaviour has been unrestrained and stupid. That said, he never gave the impression of being the sharpest crayon in the box; We’ve got yet another reason to suspect his brain’s been deprived of oxygen for too long.
Oh, and BTW, the media is referring to this as “Potgate”. An excellent indication – both in journalistic effort and subject – of how lazy the mainstream media has become.
