Huge music fan that I am, I go to surprisingly few concerts. This one, though, makes me wish I’d had tickets: Paul Simon in concert would be a treat. Paul Simon singing some of his less-played (but some of my favourite) songs is icing on the cake. Paul Simon ending the evening with some Garfunkel duets is insulin-injection-worthy. Must keep my eyes peeled (and my pancreas shock-resistant) for a broadcast of the event – sounds like a winner.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel joined forces for a surprise reunion in New York on Friday, performing three songs during the encore of Simon’s show at the newly renovated Beacon Theater.

The occasional adversaries dueted on “The Sound of Silence,” “The Boxer” and “Old Friends,” in what is believed to be just their third appearance together since concluding a 2004 reunion tour. Garfunkel had flown in from Florida, where he played in Key Largo the night before, and he returned to play in Fort Pierce the next night.
