Horrors of the Season

I don’t celebrate Christmas – too many family dramas and too little religious feeling. Krampus, therefore, is just the thing to restore my faith in the holiday. In other words, Krampus is the reason for the season.

Krampus is a mythical creature recognized in alpine countries. According to legend, Krampus accompanies St. Nicholas during the Christmas season, warning and punishing bad children, in contrast to St. Nicholas, who gives gifts to good children.

In the Alpine regions, Krampus is represented by a demon-like creature.

Why Coca-Cola never sought to import this along with Kris Kringle, I’ll never understand.
