The Irish Rover

I’m late for St Paddy’s, but stumbled upon this video of the Pogues and the Dubliners bashing out a classic.  It reminded me of another happy stumble I took, into a pub in Galway, where a table full of young men were similarly bashing out classics with all the verve and intensity of the gang here.  Probably also like the gang here, they were absolutely “fitshaced”.  As soon as the music stopped it became painfully obvious that none of them would be able to walk on their own, or even uncross their eyes long enough to put their instruments away.  It rather does make the case for whisky as a creative tool.
