The Most Unforgettable Space Shuttle Pictures

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/07/pictures/110720-best-unforgettable-space-shuttle-pictures/ Seeing this picture amidst the shuttle program memories triggered one of my own. I have a very early memory which, for a few years, I assumed I was remembering badly: In 1980 or ’81, in Grade 1, our teacher spoke to us about this new Space Shuttle Columbia, which was doing a pre-spaceflight tour […]

Apes Giggle Like Humans

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnbKzDkZktQ I blanked out when they described the evolutionary imporance and physiological facts of this story: All I saw was a gorilla being tickled, and I wanted to be a part of that. (Though, in a sympathetic reaction, I’m tickled now, too.)

(Untitled)

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090519/ap_on_sc/us_shuttle_hubble_166 The Hubble is prepped for its last mission. The craft we all mocked when it took its first problematic flight has redeemed itself a million times over with the incredible photos it regularly sends back. It’ll be missed. Atlantis’ astronauts gingerly dropped the Hubble Space Telescope overboard Tuesday, sending the restored observatory off on […]

Secrets of the Phallus: Why Is the Penis Shaped Like That?: Scientific American

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=secrets-of-the-phallus A neat find by the newly-squeamish BobbyVardar about the anatomy of the human penis. After reading the term “cervical mucus”, I have to admit to feeling a bit queasy myself, but it is interesting stuff. Also, they provide a handy recipe for making your own seminal fluid – perfect for those of us who […]
