I really wish I didnt have to remind you that staging a murder is not an appropriate April Fools Day prank | April Fools Day Ecard | someecards.com

http://www.someecards.com/upload/april_fools_day/i_really_wish_i_didnt.html Thanks to Mrs. Great Weekend Gloater for the reminder that today is April Fool’s Day, which I celebrate by avoiding all blogs and news outlets, and giving myself over to full cynicism capacity. I’ll be a sizzling, popping puddle of bile by noon.

100 Best Movie Lines in 200 Seconds | Liquid Generation

http://www.liquidgeneration.com/Media/Videos/LG_Originals/Top_10_Lists/100_Best_Movie_Lines_in_200_Seconds/ Cute concept, but in the first 17 seconds I saw Adam Sandler, Arnold Schwartzenegger, Mel Brooks and Chris Farley, amongst other regrettable “stars”. Their idea of best movie lines does not match my idea of best movie lines.

Not quite as beyond the call as weight gains/losses such as those of DeNiro’s or Bale’s (unworthy of listing, apparently) or the go-big-or-go-home action of […]

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090115/en_nm/us_deceit_1 A new army of heroes is emerging on U.S. television — not with superhuman strength or the power to fly but the ability to detect lies and deceit in an era of public distrust of civic leaders and institutions… Now a crop of dramas is showcasing mind-readers, investigators with acute observational powers, psychics and […]

The A.V. Club

http://avclub.com/ An unpleasant, early-onset theme for 2009 seems to be redesigns of my favourite websites. First StumbleUpon threatens to out-Facebook Facebook, now the AV Club has determined that what it was really missing was lots more white and lots more space, and – oh yes – lots more whitespace. Who decides upon these “modern” layouts? […]

best of craigslist: To the Judgemental Hipster Girl at my video store

http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/phi/32594665.html Methink she doth protest too much; I imagine the poster’s room is bedecked with pink, frilly things and a mass of Friends tapes bookended with stuffed unicorns. Wish fulfillment, princessy tastes usually equal someone I’d roll my eyes at, too.
