http://www.bentobjects.blogspot.com/ I’m very, very late to the Bent Objects party, and am now kicking myself for not showing up sooner. INCREDIBLY witty little scenes, made of simple materials and shot with a professional eye. No wonder the artist’s snagged a book deal so quickly. This is fabulous work.

Illusion avec des disques 33t vinyles
http://www.rabatjoie.com/series/s-19-vinyles.html Another example of simple ideas being devastatingly effective (and laugh-out-loud funny). I think Victor Borge would have particularly enjoyed his tribute.

http://www.pandemian.com/ GreenFairy has moved and renamed her blog, but the content remains satisfyingly fresh and enviable (though less in content than in her fabulous, witty writing). Here’s one of the many, many reasons I keep coming back:
Anarchists in the Aisles? Stores Provide a Stage – New York Times
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/24/us/24shopdrop.html?_r=1&pagewanted=1&oref=slogin This is the season of frenetic shopping, but for a devious few people it’s also the season of spirited shopdropping. Otherwise known as reverse shoplifting, shopdropping involves surreptitiously putting things in stores, rather than illegally taking them out, and the motivations vary. Sometimes I need an “undecided” thumb in my SU toolbar. The idea […]
Brian Dettmer: Book Autopsies
http://centripetalnotion.com/2007/09/13/13:26:26/ Holy, wholly, holey amazing! This is incredible art – witty and intricate and mind-blowing all-’round. It figures Herald‘s already found it, but everyone else on my Friends list is getting this sent to their Stumble button right now.

http://www.visi.com/~tomcat/poetry/Grant.shtml It’s 8 days too early to post for the real anniversary of Appomattox, but the combination of Palm Sunday + April Fools makes posting this today quite fitting.
Creative photos by Chema Madoz | haha.nu – the lifestyle blogzine
http://haha.nu/creative/creative-photos-by-chema-madoz Fantastic photos that use simplicity to set up some terrifically witty punchlines. The artist is Chema Madoz, and his website is sadly nowhere near as immediately gratifying (not to mention user friendly) as this basic list of his work.
LRB · classified
http://www.lrb.co.uk/classified/index.php Another good reason (my first being close proximity to Paris) to move to Britain. Here, I thought the book from my previous entry was a collection of rarities, but they’re almost always this fun. Fwah. In laboratory tests, this ad made seven mice blind. The remaining three, however, developed extra-sensory powers and the ability […]

http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_2057296.html?menu=news.quirkies Excerpts from the London Review of Books’ lonelyhearts ads, which are as witty as you’d expect from LRB readers. Makes me wish I had a subscription, or better yet the shining wit to come up with my own. Or I may just reappropriate my favourite from the page for my own use. As I’m […]
