While I’m grateful that the Conservatives’ untrustworthiness and apparent willingness to jump when Dubya commands it has begun to show, I wish it could be under less crucial circumstances. Supporting Israel’s decision to make total war on the population of Lebanon is shameful, using the situation as the basis for a fundraising drive is sickening. I’m not normally one for letter-writing, but I’ll make an exception when I’m as steamed as I am just now. I heartily recommend those Canuck Stumblers who are as offended as I am drop a line to Our Leader. Given his tendency to govern by poll results, I daresay it may make a difference…

The Conservative Party is asking supporters for a special cash contribution in light of political attacks on the government’s controversial Middle East stand.

In a letter circulated to members, the party’s executive director, Michael Donison, asks for donations of either $75 or $150 to promote the government’s position and to prepare for a possible snap election.
