I managed to find a copy (*distracting cough*) of Junebug after searching long and hard for a few months. Obviously not for those who judge their movies by the explosion or body count, but I imagine there are plenty more people whose tastes, like mine, run to solid, well-made little films. I watched the first 10 minutes before leaving for work, and seriously considered calling off so I could finish it in one setting. It’s beautiful and sweet and utterly charming and all sorts of other good things that I no longer expect from movies, which is sad, but it makes me appreciate work like this all the more.
