This roundup of hateful claptrap is being passed around as an Andy Rooney rant. While I’m no great fan of Rooney, he’s always appeared to me to be more of a grumpy curmudgeon than a misanthropic jerk. It’s a fine line, generally only recognisable to those of the former persuasion, amongst whom I cast my lot. Sure enough, Snopes supports my well-placed mistrust.
