My parents brought me to Lynde Shores last week to recover from the adrenaline rush of the craft fair. There are a couple of hiking trails amidst the marshes, but the real attraction is the pack of fearless birds that nest in the park. A few minutes with an outstretched hand full of seeds resulted in some close encounters with flocks of chickadees and the occasional woodpecker. I’ll have to go back in the spring or summer to see if the bird-in-the-hand population is even more diverse.
