Hey – has anyone else heard about this new “YouTube” thing? 😉

I’m late to the YouTube party, I know, but I’m fascinated at how amazingly wide its nets are cast. When the service first started, I was put off by the piddly number of clips, and the fact that they were all attempts by the users to be funny. Now, any search I try brings up a number of good results. And it’s invaluable for finding clips like this one, which would be rare or impossible to find without YouTube.

Here’s another clip from a ’60s variety show, featuring live performances by performers who let their talent be the focus, rather than making a spectacle of dime-a-dozen dance moves or special effects. Lip-sinkers (sic.) can also take note of how much spontaneity can result in fun. Johnny Cash was such a goof!
