I’ve only been back in North America for a week, but I’m already noticing a disturbing trend of outsourced call centres. An attempt to get an insurance quote from a previously trusted company resulted in an Indian agent doing a useless prequalifying check (consisting of “what is your name?” and nothing more) before transferring me to “someone who can give you more info.” That someone never picked up, after 10 minutes of holding. If this is the kind of customer service I get before they’ve got my money, I shudder to think of what it would’ve been like after my financial commitment, which as you’ve probably guessed is no longer forthcoming.
