I’ve got some Loudon Wainwright playing in the background as I stumble, and it occurs to me it’s worth a review. His “Strange Weirdos” album was released as an alternative soundtrack for the decidedly average film, Knocked Up, and IMO was the highlight of the film (something that will never be said for Loudon’s acting). Most of the songs are about his kids or small-life moments, and they’re lovely and catchy, and manage to weave his trademark wacky humour in quite steathily. One of the best albums I’ve heard in a while.
