I’ve tasted a few of these unusual fruits (and they’ve all been great), but my slathering jaw dropped at the sight of a “cucumelon”: This is like the Reese’s peanut butter cup of fruits for me – two great tastes that taste great together.
Further investgation on this oddity proves it’s even odder than at first glance:
Strangely the cucumelon may taste between a cross between a melon and a cucumber (the clue’s in the name) but is actually a member of the potato family and grows like a tomato, but looks rather like an oversized white pear with stripes.
I have GOT to find one of these in TO.
