Bush Takes Responsibility for Failures in Storm Response – New York Times

President Bush said today that he accepted responsibility for the extent to which the federal government fell short in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

In other news, temperatures in Hell today reached record lows! I’m glad to see the no-accountability president admit to a failure (can we expect an apology for/to Iraq soon, too?), but this will probably impact his all-important approval ratings for the better. Anyway, one step at a time, and the first step – admitting you have a problem – is taken, albeit two weeks too late. Let’s see what Latecomer Bush does next.
