G.O.P. Moves Fast to Reignite Issue of Gay Marriage

This is an amazing twist to the Republicans’ story: To my ears, the Democrats provided no strong contention during this campaign. There is increasing evidence that the voting boxes were rigged in the last election, and will probably be again. And the “conservative base” still out-shouts the more liberal voices in the country. And yet, for all this, Bush feels insecure enough about his results that he’s again chosen to pander to the Family First loonies.

Seriously, all you Blue-State voters? There’s plenty of room up here – if the election goes South (literally) you’re welcome to join us. We allow our women to vote, our gays to marry, and our American neighbours to occasionally abuse our free healthcare. Unlike the majority of your population, we’re good people!
