If you want to be a big hit at speed-dating, walk tall, say UK scientists.

Their survey found that taller men are more likely to get a date.

The University of Essex scientists calculated that for every 2.5 centimetres taller a man is than his speed-dating rivals, the number of women who want to meet him goes up by about 5%.

My female co-workers and I figured this out a few years ago, when a new, 6’5″ shipping assistant was hired. He was of only average attractiveness, but we fell all over each other trying to talk to him that first week. Then, one by one, we lost interest. Which led to the question, “does height trump hot?” The debate was forgotten, however, as soon as we started listening to his opinions, because it turns out annoying trumps height every time.
